godzilla looked butt ugly in this movie

Interesting. I wasn't sure if it were ever used again, but now I'm sure. The frog-like features are awful. My fave is the one in "Godzilla vs The Thing"

The "Musukogoji" suit from this movie was used for water scenes in "Godzilla vs. Gigan". The suit was also going to be loaned to Tsuburaya Productions for their "Godzilla vs. Redmoon" project, but that film never came to fruition.

Godzilla appears the way he does because for some reason, they made Minya first, and after he was completed, they changed Godzilla to resemble Minya, rather than the other way around.

There are fans in Japan who enjoy the suit. It still looks pretty much like Godzilla, so...

And Audio, the only reason they used the suit you're referring to was to save money. If you look during the final reel of "Godzilla vs. Gigan", you can see the costume falling apart on screen. I guarantee you had it had another movie in it, they would have used it again for "Godzilla vs. Megalon".

Yes, it was quite bad. But I think that most all of the late 60s through early 70s suits looked horrible. These movies tended to be lighter in tone and more kid friendly. So I suppose they decided Godzilla should have a more cartoonish appearance. But the character became popular as a rampaging lizard, so I think there was no reason to change it. With all of the effort and resources which go into making such a suit, they might as well make it with some detail.
