5.0???
Really IMDB?!
shareIt just means most people didn't like it
shareIt has gone down a bit, but I think it's a fair rating, even generous if we take into account that these movies are really mostly enjoyed just by fans, and others would probably hate them.
I expected it to be either a really fun (in a campy sort of way) or a really dreadful movie. In the end, it turned out to be simply mediocre and dull, so I agree with the rating in this case.
Not that it would really matter, though. IMDb ratings aren't guidelines or anything.
From 1-10, 5.0 is pretty much average. It's 5.1 at this time. Considering that the movie was uneven and low-budget, I'd say that this is quite a good rating. If it lacked the fandom that carries over from the rest of the Godzilla franchise, it would fare less well. The movie was entertaining in some ways, but not a very solid outing.
shareHow do you rate it?On the Godzilla (1954) horror/scifi timeline it's a terrible movie. But in it's cheesy Toho series existence, it's hilarious and very cartoonish. Koalas are telepathic. Plus, they control the weather.
