ZOWIE spring-loaded, double-end nightsticks

Did anybody think those ZOWIE, spring-loaded, double-ended nightsticks were cool? I liked the menacing way that ZOWIE soldiers would brandish the closed nightsticks in their fists first, before depressing the spring button to deploy the ends of the club, each with a small ball at the end.

I think these were prop weapons but had to be actually fabricated of metal. Using a flimsy material would have caused the nightsticks to break during hand-to-hand combat.

Did anybody out there ever get their hands on one of these Hollywood, prop spring-loaded nightstick billyclubs? I've never seen one being advertised anywhere.

Yes they were cool but why use such a thing when you could use a gun?

It was kind of silly to have them.
