And now Fred Thompson for 2008. As silly as the movie was, it was a fascinating look at the 1967 perspective of many subjects: cryogenics, the space race, the cold war, a shadow government, the sexual revolution. Much of it has (arguably) become a reality.

When the film was released Reagan was Governor of California and rumored to be making a run for the Presidency. Thats what the line was referring to.

hahahahah...I was going to start a thread about a few of the quotes on this movie and I saw your thread which defeated the purpose of mine...This movie is brilliant. MInd you, the acting is not top notch, but it is incredibly enjoyable...

Yeah, that's a great line and, sadly, an al-too-true prediction of Reagan getting elected president a mere decade or so down the road.
