Why didn't they show him going after Maddow and Blackfoot?

Seems the movie ended without knowing if he ever got them or not.

I think getting the Captain and his protectors was the hard part. Having him go after Blackfoot and Maddow was a way to show the differences between Jed's quest and Rachel's.

I believe Jed eventually got them both, although it wouldn't have been as big a deal as if the Captain (the ringleader) got away.

Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum. Is very bad.

You kind of missed the point of the ending.

The point is that he's going to continue to be the marshal of the territory. Getting Blackfoot is just a continuation of his job responsibilities. After which he'll still be marshal.

It was a fine ending.

If you want to ask a sensible question ask: Why, at the end, did Jed demand a pardon for the old man?? That guy was the one who instigated (and was most responsible for) his extralegal lynching and would've murdered him if he hadn't been cut down.
