The greatest western ever made.

I know that a lot of people are partial to John Wayne, Gary Cooper, and Sergio Leone. I know that High Plains Drifter, Unforgiven, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly are widely considered Eastwood's best cowboy movies. This one is my personal favorite. I think that this one really sums up the West and shows it for what it was. It shows how this anarchic society could turn on anyone in a minute. The outlaws, the vigilantes, and law enforcement were all equally unfair and unforgiving.

I also like Once Upon a Time in the West, The Cowboys, and Pale Rider.

I don't know has the look and feel of a TV movie.

I don't consider it the best, but I still think it deserves an 8+.

As weird as this will sound, I didn't ever watch any western until the past efw years. lol. So I am just now seeing these.

So far my favorite is the good, the bad, and the ugly, followed by once upon a time in the west. I liked unforgiven and high plains drifter as well.

Best ever. I feel the same. Some of the highly acclaimed ones are, to me, highly overrated,e.g.The Searchers, Red River, Stagecoach, and The Unforgiven.Hang'em High is also morally thoughtful without being didactic.

I'd give it an 8 for the story.
