American cut

I may be the only person in the world who actually prefers the American cut of this film. Unfortunately, it's impossible to find. Does anyone know a way to get it?

Well, the only one in the world in this regard that matters is Roman Polanski, who prefers HIS cut, hence I doubt you'll ever see the "American cut" again. I wouldn't be surprised if they all weren't burned long ago (and I'm talking decades ago). Polanski is very hostile to the "American cut," and if I were him, I'd have ordered this.

I'd say that unlike Blade Runner, this one is one of those movies where the "other" cut will probably never resurface again. If it is the animated intro you're looking for, that one might be up in youtube or something.

there are still some old, battered prints of the american cut floating around...not available on DVD, but it may surface near you at a local cinematheque or second-run movie house. That's where I saw the american cut back in the early 90's
