On the strength of Leonard Maltin's rave review which described it as "near brilliant" we rented the video to watch at my 11th or 12th birthday party ... it was a terrible disappointment. Slow, dull, not funny, not scary.

The grim ending scared me the most.

When I was a kid, I only saw the intro. It scared me when the MGM lion transformed into a vampire! After I finally got to see the whole movie, I decided I might not want to watch it again because of its sad ending.
"Tsuppari is my former name."
