Would to see new TODDAO dvd transfer
Fox has released a number of their TODD-AO productions from 65mm sources onto dvd. I would really like to see a new 65mm transfer with its correct aspect ratio of 2:20.

shareYes it would be great to get the full-length 70MM version with the "Something in Your Smile" song restored to DVD.

Here, Here. This is arguably the prettiest song from the score and it's very sad that it was cut out of the panavision release print of the film. Give us Doctor Dolittle in Todd-AO!
shareI read in 70mm Newsletter that Fox has struck a new TODD-AO print of DOCTOR DOLITTLE.
shareDid the newsletter mention whether this will be a restoration to the film's Roadshow length?
shareWell, the end of 2007 will be DOLITTLE's 40th Anniversary. Maybe Fox will do something for it on DVD, but if you really want it, now is the time to write to Fox!
shareAlso, call the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and ask them. They've been doing a series "Great to be Nominated" where they show restored prints of nominated Best Pictures. Go to OSCAR.ORG for more info.
shareAccording to someone who has worked on film restorations for home video Fox looked in their vaults for the deleted songs/footage back in the 80's but didn't find anything. Allegedly the widow of producer Arthur Jacobs had a 16mm print that had everything in it that was later cut out. She's reported to have loaned it for a showing to a film collector and it was never returned.
shareAt 151 minutes, this thing seems to go on forever-and some people want MORE?.
