Real town, not backlot

From the first time I saw the film as a kid I wished that English town in the beginning scenes was real, but it was so pretty it seemed fake. And then I stumbled on it while driving in England.

It's called Castle Combe and it's well worth a visit. (http://www.castle-combe.com).

And, bonus, the manor house is a B&B.

Forget visiting, I'd like to move there!

I think I'd love living in the UK . . . if only I could manage it logistically.

I'd love to go myself. But be realistic...

Big difference between now and the way it was in the early 1800s, about the time of Dickens.

Anybody who is FROM Castle Comb, what was it like for your great great grandparents?
