If I could remake history

...there would have been a Camelot and we'd still have it.

But I'd also find a way for Julie Andrews to have done Mary Poppins, the The Sound of Music and the others and still have been in the movie versions of the two Lerner and Lowe classics she starred in on Broadway. I actually think Audrey and Vanessa did a good job but I would still have preferred Julie. With Audrey I couldn't get over that she was wasn't actually doing the singing and, since she was never total convincing as the flower girl, it was hardly stunning when she turned into the refined clothes horse we were used to seeing her as. In Vanessa's case I was amazed at how good she was, (she's a great actress- greater if less charming than Julie and Audrey), but I couldn't get past her radical image. What was she doing in a romantic Broadway musical?

The play Camelot was at all times a work in progress and Alan Jay Lerner had perfected the script by the time of the film, (which is why he used it for the revival). But Logan used far too many fancy movie tricks to film it and that, plus the depressing nature of the story kind of ruined the film for me.

Well, they pick other people, but put Julie in this title and you'd have an instant classic.

It seems there's no information online of remaking it. Wouldn't it be fun to be in? I'm into old things like that. I have a keen interest for them.
