Vanessa Redgrave's singing

Why, oh why didn't they dub her with someone who could sing? It is painful to listen to.

Just watched the beginning of the film on TCM and had to turn it off. Both Redgrave (with her singing) and Harris (with his over-affected performance) were dreadful.

I`ll stick with the Original Cast recording.

Dorothy stop that, Mr. Ha Ha`s lookin at you!!

NOT ME.

I was disappointed that I missed the first part of Redgrave's "Where are the Simple Joys of Maidenhood." True, she's no singer, but I liked her interpretation.

And I enjoyed Harris as well. After seeing his theatrical performance in the HBO CAMELOT, his film acting here is so NOT mannered in comparison. Yes, Burton OWNS "I wonder what the King is Doing Tonight?" and "Camelot(1)", but Harris OWNS the bittersweet "Camelot reprise".

Camelot just came on tcm this evening and I tried to give it another chance. I could not.

Just awful.

Stick to Andrews and Burton. So beautiful to hear.

reply

Should have been Andrews and Burton but dubbing is wrong.

reply

I thought she was good. I love the sound of her voice.
