Was the ending later speeded up? I remember a very slow motion Bonnie & Clyde bullet riddling at the end, like the overdone slow-motion lovers running across a field to each other.
I just saw it again on PBS, and the end was quite quick. It was much faster.
my ancient memory of seeing this first on tv back in the 70's seems to recall a slower version.
I wonder if it was indeed slowed down to compensate for all the squib hits removed during the tv censoring process.
I first saw the unedited version in a mass media class in High school in 76 and thats the first time I noticed that although there is some slo-mo, the whole thing isnt slo-mo. Ive watched it a dozen times since, I dont notice any more.

I just saw it on DVD, and I believe there was a slow-motion shot. Maybe they sped it up for TV?
