Where are the Browning Automatic Rifles??????

Clyde used BAR's almost exclussively after holding up a couple of armories. Yet the movie showed him using Thompson machine guns and pistols and I didn't see one BAR in the whole movie. Highy inaccurate to say the least.

I just saw a fascinating story on Commentary Magazine you might be interested in. The entire movie was pretty full of "dramatic license". Anyway, a link is

Enjoy.

Interesting article, finance 830 264331, but the author seems a bit off-kilter. And what's with the Obama dig at the end? It seemed out of place and random.

Lots of movies use Thompsons with drum magazines for the visual effect even though frequently not historically accurate. Thompsons with the drum look great in scenes even though the BAR is a more powerful weapon. In the newish biography GO DOWN TOGETHER Clyde is mentioned as having one Thompson he was proud of on an occasion but that was about it.

Didn't Clyde have a BAR with a pieced together magazine? I think it was made up of 3 taped together BAR magazines. And, yes, the BAR is a more powerful weapon than the Thompson, but the Thompson could hold much more ammo.
