Yes, Bonnie and Clyde did kidnap an undertaker and his lady friend after they stole their car. The differences between the movie and reality are, they weren't a couple, and bonnie and Clyde were initially much rougher with them. In Blanche Barrow's memoirs, she recounts how Clyde was so pissed that they dared to chase him down that he pistol-whipped the man, and Bonnie "wanting to prove how tough she could be" slapped the woman around. Later, they were friendlier, and when they discovered that the man was an undertaker, Bonnie actually found it funny and insisted that he embalm them when she and Clyde were killed. He actually did look over their bodies after they were ambushed. Later, they were released unharmed and given a couple bills to get back home. The undertaker's real name was H.D. Darby and his friend's name was Sophie Stone.
