Oscars

I would have given BONNIE AND CLYDE quite a few Oscar wins. I would have taken best cinematography away and given it to IN COLD BLOOD. This was the first year where they did not separate black and white & color - it became one award. But, I would have given this film - Best Picture, Director, Actor, Supp. Actor (Hackman), Best Supp. Actress, screenplay, editing, art-set, costumes. That's nine wins - plus Dunaway, Pollard, and cinematography deserved the nominations. 9 out of 12 wins.

No doubt in my mind it was the Best Picture that year.

I saw it when it was released - different from what we see on DVD and HBO.

I recall the bullet being shown going through the car window before hitting the bank teller. Very realistic - unlike the DVD version.

At least three violent scenes where changed - including the final. Took away some of the impact and shock - I think. I wonder why they did it.

They were robbed of several Oscars!

shocking that Bonnie and Clyde lost best picture

It's shocking that Bonnie and Clyde did not get nominations for Film Editing. The finale alone should've guaranteed it the win. Here were the nominees:

- In the Heat of the Night *WINNER*
- Beach Red
- The Dirty Dozen
- Doctor Dolittle
- Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

I don't know how Dinner managed to get in. The film pretty much played like a play, with the majority of the action taking place inside the house.
