To OP.

Because the imdb top 250 doesn't mean very much, it's the popular vote.

This is also why a pretentious comicbook movie about a grown man in a bat suit is considered one of the 10 best movies of all time.

We're living in an era in which videogame and comicbook fanboyism dictates what is "good".

On a higher note, B&C is timeless and has remained a well watched classic that continues to draw in new generation of viewers.

Maybe because a lot of us find it to be a fairly dull movie.
