Costuming Was Superb

Dunaway's look in this film is perfect. Her costumes couldn't be better AND they are classic. Any woman could wear these looks today and still look good! Well done.

Except her hair and makeup! It was SO 60's! They seemed to do that a lot then-- they'd have accurate costuming, then hair and makeup looking like the 60's-- bouffant, teased do's, beehives, cat-eyes, etc. They did it in "Funny Girl", "Cleopatra", and a couple of World War 2 movies. Annoying...

ITA lynnrnsd! Faye Dunaway looks way too made up and perfect. Granted she was gorgeous back then but come on--she looks like a model, not a hayseed, thrillseeking, Depression-era criminal.

I loved the clothes in the movie and would definitely love to have a few of Bonnie's outfits to wear today. But you are right, Bonnie's hair was not 1930's at all. Blanche had the right hairstyle...Velma too. Yes, the make-up on Bonnie was very 1960's.

How were the costumes perfect? Dunaway didn't look anything like a 1930s gangster moll. She looked like a typical Playboy bunny.
