This Movie needs a board
All controversy aside it's worhy of a look. By no means perfect but an easy watch.
shareI loved this movie when I saw it as a child. So I rented it for my kids, and we had a great time watching and re-watching.
Funny, when I first saw it, I didn't get the sly questioning at the end, as to who was really the "boss", Petruchio, or Katarina.
I know the feeling. First time I saw this was in my English class last year, in which we watched only segments. I didn't like the movie. Having watched it from beginning to end with my Shakespeare Club, I feel like I caught a lot more depth in it, and I am a fan (though I still have some quibbles with interpreation). I think it is interesting how the back of the video box poses it-- it says that Katherine has found a way to control Petruchio. Interesting that they should say that straight out, when there are so many ways to interpret even beyond the directors and actors situtations.
