Ignores Shakespeare Comedy
The Taming of the Shrew was written by Shakespeare as a comedy. This film version of the play deletes all the comedy. This film is simply a showpiece for Burton & Taylor to display their romantic squabbles. All the comedy has been removed. I would that this film version be removed from the film repertoire as well.
