does anyone know where I can find the music (i.e. the score) to the show? not the theme song, but the actual music of the series?

Back in 2002-2003, Speed Racer Enterprises conducted phone surveys asking Speed Racer fans what kind of merchandise they would like to see in the future (they also tried selling the super-expensive box sets during these surveys). One of the things that was brought up was the soundtrack to the show, which is apparently something that they were looking into at one point. However, they haven't done anything with it since - I'd recommend shooting the company an e-mail saying how much you love the music and you'd like to see a CD release.

Or, instead of wasting your time with Speed Racer Enterprises, you could just go over to Amazon Japan and order the two CDs of Speed Racer music that were released in Japan back in 2002.

That works, and not too bad of a price for Japanese CDs. $51 for two CDs is cheap; usually it would run you $30-35 a pop.

You might want to grab the movie score, too.

It has updated versions of the original music.

The U.S. version of the Speed Racer theme song is catchy, but the original Japanese version had more gusto and passion!

Hi all!

Listening to the samples available on Amazon, this disc has all of four tracks with Nobuyoshi Koshibe's classic music, one track with the theme song, and nine tracks of songs "inspired by" Speed Racer. If you want the music that was used in the show, you're MUCH better off buying the two Japanese discs and skipping this thing. What little actual Speed Racer music you get on the new disc is all found on the Japanese albums, along with so much more than you won't find on here.
