Is this really in black-and-white?
I seem to remember it being in color. I never paid much attention to it, but I thought all public television shows after 1965 were in color.

shareAfraid, hardly so. It was only in black&white.
You might be remembering some of the takes, or somewhat like advercity pictures which were shot in colour.
I have one of such in my computer.
Hence the confusion.
I notice how the detail of costume, its texture and the stuffy decoration of the drawing room and even individual ornaments show up so much better in black and white. It took quite a long time before colour sets became the norm.

Do you mean it wasn't shown in UK before airing in USA?
Do you mean it was filmed in UK as to be shown just in USA?
If not - what's your meaning at all after all?

Are you remembering the later series with Damien Lewis? It looked good on the screen but didn't play as well.
