Eric Porter - Boris Karloff redux?

Is it just me, or did Eric Porter as Soames remind anyone else of Boris Karloff, especially in the later episodes when he was in old-age make-up?

I do see the resemblance; as an old man, his looks also reminded me of Brando in The Godfather. Porter did an excellent job of portraying an old man, little things like the way he moved or stood up--slowly.

I saw a resemblance to Brando as well.

I don't know about that, but in the early episodes I see a resemblance to a young Christopher Plummer at times!

Yes, he does favor Plummer...I'd never noticed that!

I didn't in Forsyte, but I really did in Jewel in the Crown!

In his scenes as a younger man, I kept seeing Dr. Smith (Jonathan Harris) from Lost in Space! But now that I think of it, YES, he looked very much like Boris Karloff in the later episodes.
