I deplore most Hollywood remakes, but I would love to see a more modern take on this, with Haley Mills as either the Reverand Mother, or Sister Ligouri, the math teacher. Or, else, a sort of sequel with Haley Mills. Ok, just anything good with Haley Mills.

I hope they never remake this... it wouldn't have the same kind of charm it does made today. Plus I can't seen anyone but Haley Mills and June Harding as Mary and Rachel and Rosalind Russell as Reverend Mother.
shareI agree that it would not be the same but I hope that if there ever is a remake, they'd have the sense to star Hayley Mills and June Harding as Reverend Mother'd and Sister Ligouri. Can you imagine ??? And of course they have to go back to Ambler,PA and use the same shots of the castle.
shareWhat a hoot for a remake! It wouldn't be a total remake per say but a 21st century telling of the story with former students in the mother superior/teacher roles ..... and of course Haley Mills and June Harding would be perfect in those roles.
shareIf this were to happen, it could turn out pretty good! But in order to satify the baby boomers who saw the original movie (they'd have to have as many of the oldies as they could. Hayley Mills, June Harding - gee, I wonder what Marvel Ann is doing these days.... It would be such a great way to blend a bit of the past with a touch of the present. Wouldn't you just love to see Mary and Rachel (in whatever capacity)dealing with a couple of out of control girls? And they could plug some flashbacks throughout the movie. I'm not a huge fan of remakes, but I think I could handle this one.
