The Trouble w/Angels memories

First saw this movie in 7th grade at Our Lady of Loreto School in Pa. Wish that the memories I have could be as happy as real life. But every time I watch it I still believe it can be. Rosalind
RUSSELL made being a nun look so serene, yet s also brought reality to her role.
I love this movie because it was an innocent time for me and at the time made me believe in hope for anything and still does today every time I watch it.

Unlike a lot of "happy, happy" family movies, this one acknowledges that life can be difficult, tough, and often without pat answers. Yet it still leaves you smiling at the end.

I saw the movie when it first came out. I was 13. It still has remained one of my favorite movies. Many years later, my friend and I decided to take a ride to Ambler, PA to find the castle. We knew we were in the vicinity and when we turned the corner, there stood the beautiful castle. It is gorgeous!!!! This may sound strange but as we stood there and looked at it, it took us back to 7th grade and the day we saw the movie.

It was definitely filmed during an innocent time for me as well and just brings back the best memories. Not sure where in PA you are but you should see the castle if you are able. You most likely won't be allowed on the grounds since the property is gated (now St. Mary's Villa), but since you are such a fan, you just may love seeing the castle there in all it's glory. They used to hold tours but stopped them the year of 9/11. I toured the castle and grounds twice and it was great to walk around and see many of the places the actresses stood.

I've seen this a few times over the decades. I always enjoy it. I do believe I have it on DVD (someone got it for me back in the 1990s).

And I cried when Ligouri passed, and the Mother, when she finally got a moment alone, finally was able to let her feelings out. That was heartbreaking.

I also saw this when it first came out and have loved it! I attended Catholic schools from 1-12 grades. This was a very innocent time, but it was very realistic. I was blessed to have nuns that really cared about us...and were on the cutting edge of teaching methods...some of which I still use in my classroom. The nuns I had challenged us to think out of the box and to question and find answers.
