I have never understood something about the opening credits. The animated Mother Superior looks like Rosalind Russell but the animated Mary Clancey - the Hayley Mills character- has red hair and looks nothing like her human counterpart. Any ideas why ?
Could be that they had another actress playing the part who was red haired and who pulled out at the last minute... As they had already done the animation for the opening credits, they weren't prepared to change it for budget reasons.
That's my guess.
Mary has red hair. It’s light red, but it’s red.
