You can buy a PAL version at

I bought a NTSC video of The Trap recently (new and sealed) on Ebay. There are usually one or two copies of it up for auction at any given time on Ebay (usually VHS NTSC, but sometimes PAL). If you go to Ebay and put this in the Search box, it should show you any current auctions for this item: "The Trap" + "Oliver Reed". To filter the Ebay search right, be sure to use quote marks and the + sign as shown. I checked recently completed auctions and it shows that this video usually sells for under $20.

I think it's a great movie - even though the video I bought is a Pan and Scan edition and not a great quality print, I loved the story and the acting was superb (Reed and Tushingham, anyway). I would love to get a better quality copy on DVD someday.

'The Trap' when it was telecast, many times in one week in repeat airings from a local station, in the late-60's, I saw over and over because from the first viewing I LOVED it! Ordinarily I don't care for Oliver Reed's early work because, to me, he always seems unable to conceal that he's...acting! But in 'The Trap' he was splendid, and so was one of my all-time favorite actresses Rita Tushnigham. The wolf pack chase sequence had me on the edge of the sofa and chewing my nails; and the tender, moving scenes are among the loveliest I've seen in cinema. I think this a riveting, absorbing, marvelous film - and, perhaps alas, I shall wait with bated breath (well, not really, but you get the picture) till it releases on disc.
