Bowen Island

This was one of the first movies to be filmed near Vancouver B.C. (also McCabe and Mrs. Miller)

I had a big crush on Oliver Reed, there was a movie magazine where you could ask movie stars questions, and the magazine would pass on the question to the actor and then print it...I asked "Since you made the movie The Trap in B.C., would you consider making more movies here" or something like that...and I got a reply...he said "The Vancouver area is becoming more and more popular for movie making, and he hoped he would make another movie in the area" I was thrilled, this was in the mid 60's I guess...

(at Ian McKellan website you can ask him email him questions, and he was making X-Men in Vancouver, I asked what he did in his off-time...and he answered...hiking, and showed a pic of him at Lake Louise, which I think is in Alberta)

That is really neat to hear about ... and about Ian McKellan answering email questions ... I wish that more well known people would do that ... they would feel more personable.
I can understand your crush on Oliver Reed, I had one on him too, especially after watching "The Trap".

The settlement seen in the film was constructed at Bowen Island, north of Vancouver, but the cabin and lake scenes were filmed at Birkenhead Lake, near Pemberton, BC.
