Missing Scenes

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know anything about missing scenes? For Example, Scenes about Photos of Gromek and his children. I know that Bernard Herrmann did music for the missing scene.

The major missing scene was filmed, but the footage is lost. Only script pages remain.

It comes some time after the killing of Gromek. Newman and Andrews are being given a tour of some factory when a man approaches who announces he is...
Gromek's brother.

The same actor (Wolfgang Kieling) plays Gromek, but in a white wig with moustache.

The brother offers Newman and Andrews some sausage from the factory that he cuts...with a great big butcher knife like the one Newman helped sink in Gromek. Newman is filled with guilt and angst. I think the brother discusses Gromek's children.

Hitchcock was murky on why the scene was cut. Maybe time. Maybe it made Newman "bad." Maybe because the actor was too good in being disguised, and there was confusion about him BEING the brother.

Who knows? It's gone, baby gone.

That's really sad though. I think It would have made the film a little more better.

I think Hitchcock told Truffaut he was going to send the scene to Henri Langois hopefully it happened
