Carolyn Conwell + W. A. Glover---Who Are They?
Chicago Tribune, Wednesday, August 17, 1966:
TOWER TICKER
by Herb Lyon
" . . . The gal who plays the farmer's wife in A. Hitchcock's click, "Torn Curtain," is straight out of our town. She's Carolyn Conwell, daughter of the Chicago real estate agent, E. H. Maiers. Hitch is high on her. And let's point out that the E. German security cop she and Paul Newman kill off [in a terrifying scene] is Wolfgang Kieling whose performance is devastating."

" . . . Reaction to the latest version of "The Deputy" at the Studebaker is as controversial and baffling as the play itself. The box office looms pretty large. More: W. A. Glover who plays the rather caricatured Pope Pius XII, enacts a villain in A. Hitchcock's mopvie, "The Torn Curtain:" That's thesping for you."
