It's not a big deal but..

I would think in real life McQueen would have used a gun to cut that giant rope spanning the river. Of course it wouldn't have been as dramatic as using the axe.

I can't recall if there was some reason he had to use the axe.

So thick I think it might be harder to cut with bullets than an axe.

Might be fun to have the Mythbusters try shooting 30.06 rounds at a rope of similar size to see if the axe-work was even needed...
