shareYes. It was filmed in and around the Timanfaya National Park in the south of Lanzarote. The lago verde is a small green lake that also appeared in 'Enemy Mine'. I think One Million Years... used many other locations. The whole area has an eerie, lunar quality and is completely silent. I've also heard rumours that parts of Star wars and Moonraker were filmed here, but I haven't been able to confirm them. It's also widely believed that the last scenes of Planet of the Apes were filmed on the beaches of Papagayo in Lanzarote.
I live on Lanzarote, and was speaking to a local who remembers his shock at seeing the 'pollo de Arrecife', a local Canarian wrestling celebrity, in the role of a caveman
