Sticking with the rifle.

In the beginning of the movie, Max has got this really nice rifle. So later on in the movie it has Max without a rifle. I know that Max learned to use a handgun really well, but he should've also stuck with a rifle.

So there must be some scene where Max gets beaten up and has the rifle taken from him. I don't remember such a scene but it would make the movie complete, a scene which shows Max getting beaten up by miscreants and they take his rifle.

You may have seen a hacked up commercial filled version. Not long after the murder of his parents he came up on and attacked 3 men but found out thry were not the same 3 l. They let him stay at their camp but took his rifle horse and I would guess $8.00 he had while he was sleeping.
