what is that song?

the only track listed in the Soundtrack section is the one sung by Julie Harris.

but can anyone identify that ubiquitous '60s instrumental diddy that plays during the pool scene where Newman meets the Tiffin (smokin'!) and Wagner characters, and again in the bar scene when Harper meets the character played by Julie Harris ("You got cops eyes", she tells him - a line repeated to Al Pacino in "Sea of Love", by the way.) the song in question is like the perfect Hollywood concept of 60's music neutered and tamed for the over-40 set of the day. gotta have it.

did i mention Pamela Tiffin is insanely hot? yeah, well, it bears repeating anyway.

I have the old 33 1/3 LP music soundtrack from the movie. On the album, the song you decribe is entitled, "Mexican Breakfast".

That is so cool that you have the soundtrack album! I have hundreds of soundtracks, but unfortunately this is not among them. I've never even seen this in the bins. What is on the rest of the soundtrack album?

"Mexican Breakfast" is a cool little ditty, back when Herb Alpert and Sérgio Mendes were making cocktail tunes for dancin' and romancin'.
