Location HELP ?

This is one of my all times favorite movies, however, every time I watch it I wonder about the location shots. Anyone have any idea where the last sequences ( when Jos and Georgie were parting at the river), and he is chasing the boat, there is a beautiful HUGE building in the background. Anyone know what, or where in London it is ?

Also, when James proposes, there is a large church or cathedral in the background. Anyone recognize it ?

Our English friends might be able to help with these!

When I went to London, I visited the neighborhood where most of "Georgy Girl" was filmed. I saw the apartment Georgy shared with Meredith - yes, the steps are still there. It is on Maida Street, and is perpendicular to the street with the canal along side. There were many houseboats on the canal.

I'm sure that the parting scene between Georgy and Jos was filmed somewhere along the Thames River - it would be the only river that has tourist boats operating on it.

The parting scene takes place in Greenwich, on the south side of the river. The building you can see in the background is the former Royal Naval College, now University of Greenwich.
