I'm afraid with her feelings for Jos, it was a case of wanting what was unobtainable, unreachable, because he was in love with Meredith. Part of why she loved him was that he was a great and funny guy and a good friend - but he was with Meredith. Another part of it is that she sees the way Meredith treats him and feels somewhat guilty and obliged to offer him what Meredith doesn't...
When she does eventually have Jos, it's somewhat awkward, and he doesn't want things quite like she wants them, and suddenly the concept of him isn't all that appealing, really.
With James on the other hand, he is TOO obtainable for Georgy. He already wanted her - it's not simply his age, or that he's married that turns her off, it's that he's too easy to have. She could easily have accepted being his mistress (yes, the woman has some morals, but then again, she didn't mind sleeping with MARRIED Jos while she thought Meredith was sleeping in the next room) and probably quite effortlessly have convinced him to divorce his wife so they could marry (I believe James would have also done this). James was besotted with Georgy, and you could feel he absolutely adored her and it wasn't just a case of being a dirty old man... (the guy is smart enough to know that even if he buys Meredith's baby everything it needs it's still unlikely Georgy is letting him into her knickers).
In the end, Georgy's only real love...is Sarah, the baby. She wants the baby and will do anything to keep the baby, and so makes the decision that she knows will benefit the baby and let her keep her. In the end, when you see James in the car with Georgy, you can tell just from her failure to acknowledge James there on their WEDDING day speaks volumes of how it is. It's a marriage of convenience and nothing else...
The only one I felt really bad for in the end is James even if he did have designs on being an adulterer with his employees daughter.
