Opening credits: her hair wasn't that bad,was it?

I saw this at the drive in back in ++++
The hairstyle was in the store window which would mean it was in style. It's not a style that was the best choice,but it wasn't something that people should have stared at, just a woman with her hair up. Yet,she felt embarassed enough to rinse it out in the subway rest room

Don't usually pay close attention to lyrics, but did happen to notice there's a line in the song that comes up right around this point which seems to mirror what the scene is trying to communicate - "Don't be so scared of changing and rearranging yourself". I'd say her reaction to the hairstyle sprang from the fact that it contrasted so starkly with the way she saw herself.
