This film is ACHING for a remake

I am an old fart. Saw the original in the theatre as a pre-teen. LOVED it.

I know many are against re-makes but I say phooey on that! Kids today, today's generation will never see the original and if they did, they would not enjoy it.

So come on Hollywood. Get someone to remake this story on the big screen with a cast that will draw in the crowds. There isn't a pre-70s sci-fi classic out there more in need of a remake than this one!

I agree. The subject matter for this film is still intriguing to this day.

A remake has been in development hell for years now.

You should read the essay on the project in "Tales from Development Hell."

I agree! This probably one of only a few films that could easily be remade without destroying the integrity of the original. It could literally be a pure remake without many changes, if at all. A great adventure film that could find a new audience

There's no fart like an old fart, as my mother used to say.

Anyway, we know so much more about the human body now and with today's high tech gimmicks that movies can make (how about making it 3D?) it would be perfect.

What I would like to know that his lungs was all black tar presumably from smoking. He might've ended up dying from that and how many people never started to smoke after seeing THAT?

Aching for a remake? Guys, why not just watch INNERSPACE? Same premise, but just turned into a comedy and over 20 years younger than FV.
