What a wonderful film!

A few years ago I saw The Grinch, the 2000 blockbuster, that is. Needless to say it didn't influence me at all. I had never seen the original, but I had heard it was a masterpiece. I just finished watching it a few hours ago, and I have to say that I'm changed man. It's just so beautiful, I almost wanted to cry in the end. It manages to fill you with the Christmas joy you're supposed to feel at this time of year in just 25 minutes. I have been having my exams almost all of December and I was starting to worry that I was getting depressed, but after seeing this film it has restored my faith, and I will almost certainly make this a yearly tradition from here on after.

I watched it again last night. I am amazed at the artistry of Chuck Jones.

I recommend "What's Opera, Doc?"; the Bugs Bunny cartoons featuring Marvin Martian; and many of the other Warner Brothers cartoons that Chuck Jones worked on.

I'm sorry that you were exposed to this Holiday classic so late in life, but better late than never. It's an amazing show that is still as enchanting as it was 40 years ago when it first premiered on TV. And no, the 2000 live action film did nothing to diminish the magic of this progam.
