Why two versions?

I noticed that there are two versions of the song where the singer is singing about how rotten the Grinch is. "The three words that best describe you are as follows and I quote: stink, stank, stunk!" if memory serves me right is part of the less commonly aired version.

"You're from the 60s! Peace love dope! Back, back to the 60s! No place for you in the future!"

Its not really two versions...its just that frequently when the movie is shown the Grinch song is hacked to pieces....stick with either an version aired by the Turner channels or get the DVD
