What is Version Is Better?

I know this is the one that tops it all, but there was more than one adaptaion. Yes, everyone knows the infamous big budgeted Ron Howard/Jim Carey version, but what about the Broadway version? Is that at least more satisfying than the live-action movie? I don't hate the 2000 movie, but does it surpass with more wit and charm. If anyone who is in Boston, has seen it, please tell me you thoughts and comparisons.

I've never seen the live version (though i'd like to) but i know that the animated original version is by far and away better than the ron howard version. It was a nice try and they kept some things the same, but it didn't do it for me. The cartoon is just great. Better music, meaner grinch, more Dr. Suess. just a story that was meant to be animated in my mind.

Chuck Jones was talented enough to "pad" an extra 12-15 minutes (The whole book is about 12 minutes worth of text). But 105 minutes? Besides despite a lacking budget the 1966 version is definitive. Proof that money doesn't always make things better.

And come on, Karloff vs. Carrey? No contest. Karloff all the way.

Thurl Ravenscroft (aka Tony the Tiger's voice) doing the singing?
Can't beat it.

Chuck got more laughs with an evil smile the Grinch, and poor Max on the sled than most current "comedies".
