ABC chopped it up even more this year!
Some of the cuts were way too obvious too! I've recorded it just for my collection, but it's something that should never be seen!

They certainly did! The network did an injustice and cut one of the best cartoon sight gags of all-time. It's the scene when all the Whos sit down for their feast and one Who comes out with a casserole and opens it and another Who comes out and then another and another until the littlest Who serves Cindy Lou her apple. A great scene proving you can get your point across without dialogue.
shareAvoid watching this on tv & shell out a few bucks for the dvd. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
shareI noticed on the airing today at least four scenes were missing, the scene where the chefs bring a plate which contains a smaller chef and presents Cindy Lou with a strawberry which morphs into the Grinch's eye, a shot of the Grinch and Max tumbling down the hill, a bit of Max pulling the sleigh up the cliff side, and the Grinch playing the trumpet as he and Max go to return the presents.

it's been 20 years, but I still remember the version we had on tape initially:
it cut out a whole "you're a mean one segment", the one before the Grinch meets Cindy Lou, and the next one was butchered as well starting at the point where the Grinch steers the train into the bag.
in 1992 we taped over it with the complete version.
