blue max b+w photos

hi all. I got a call from the film board of ireland archives section last week. they had found out about my photos i took on set of blue max in 1965. they said that they had very little information on the film and would I be interested in letting my photos be put in their files. I was chuffed. I sent them a cd of photos. A nice girl called ORNA rang back to say that they could not believe such photos were taken on set. I was more chuffed now. A contract was posted to me to sign so they could use photos for benefit of film archives.I think they must have been reading blue max message board. If anybody would like to see photos just send me your email address, to [email protected]. ps I saw a tv show on the reunion of the A TEAM. sad to say that GP has passed on but they had his son there standing in for his dad, it was really cool,,,,

That's Fantastic Tonymaher8 !!

Congratulations to you!
Those photos of yours are truly unique. As I mentioned previously to you, that while I watched the DVD of the Blue Max I could then see the same scene in your pictures but from a different angle. It was like having an expanded version of the movie. And then the history of your experience, the behind the scenes stories you have to tell, really adds to the experience of the film overall.

Let me know if you get a book deal out of this, or better yet how about a special feature attachment to the DVD. Yeah, they could create a behind the science making of the film special feature, interview you and use your photos, along with past and present interviews of the cast and crew and townsfolk, and then re-release the movie as a 'Directors Cut' version. Now that would be sweet. I'd buy it all over again.

Best of luck to you man.

hi lunrlandr5. thank you for your kind words. last sunday while visiting my 85years old aunt in her old folks home. i bumped into a friend who was in blue max with me, and can you believe he remembered me with a camera on set,so i sent him photos. my aunt patty had a small shop in main st leixlip and all the actors from the airfield would buy news papers from her. james mason was seen in shop one evening. across the road from shop on the corner of main st and captain hill, old ww1 vets would gather for a chat in the summer evenings and what must they have though of men in german uniforms walking by on a break from filming.... tony
