I don't think you could draw a plane on a chalk board with a piece of dull chalk with such precision. I think they must have used a stencil. But it is a brilliant visual aid in the movie. One of hundreds of brilliant touches in this movie.

My accountant says, "1 + 1, 40% of the time, equals divorce".

The kill plane "charts man" was an artist in the book.

Thanks. That's an interesting touch. No wonder they decided to make a movie out of this book.
