If you could pick a 5th villian-Who would it be?

I know there was no need to really add another villian since they did choose the four most important recuring heavies but for fun lets imagine there was. Who
could be the next choosen. I have a list

1. Mr.Freeze-Outside of the "Big Four" villians-Freeze was one the few villians from the comics to be introduced to the series. Since the show Freeze was one of the most popular B class heavies Batman fought and George Sanders (first
actor to play the role) was one of the more serious villians

2. Mad Hatter-Like Freeze is another Bat rival outside the four super-crooks to be featured in the show. David Wayne wasn't bad but if the character was recasted (say Paul Lynde) then he would be an awesome addition to the film.

3. False-Face- Again another of the rare villians actually used from the comics.
His master-of-disguise gimmick could fit well since both Penguin and Catwoman
used disguise.

4. King Tut- Out of all the villians made-up by the writers, Tut was the most frequently used. It's kinda hard to see Tut blend well with Penguin and the rest
and there is really no use for Egyption gimmicks in the over-all plot but still would be kinda cool to see Victor Bruno play Tut on a feature film.

5. Bookworm/Egghead/Shame-My 3 fav made-up villians. Like Tut it would be hard for Shame to blend in with plot/other villians but can anyone argue that Vincent Price doesn't belong in any Batman film serious or comedy? There is also
alot potential for Bookworm to contribute to Penguin's plot

6. Two-Face or Scarecrow. These two never saw the light of day in this particular Batman universe but does anyone think one of them could fit in this film version of the series?

7. Jackie Gleason as a Long John Silver pirate villian- I have posted along time ago that if Gleason were to do a villian then this would be the best type
of villian for him. He could be one to supply the pirate henchmen and the map of the submarine dock under the UN

Anyone else have suggestions for who could be the 5th Super-Crook?

I heard Frank Sinatra(?) wanted to play The Joker. That might have been interesting. but since that never manifested, i would have loved to use him somewhere.

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.

I see Sinatra as a potential Two-Face

Mr. Freeze played by George Sanders.

Two-Face -- Sidney Poitier.
Now, wouldn't THAT be something??

reply

Sidney Poitier as Two-Face would've been GREAT

My choice for a fifth villain would be Egghead, played by Vincent Price. I realize he wasn't introduced until the second season, but that's my answer anyway.

reply

Egghead would have been great because he was a super intelligent villain.

reply

Yes, I think had Egghead been involved he probably would've been the brains of the group, though the others(especially Penguin and Riddler) most likely wouldn't admit that.

My final verdict would be

Villians created from the show-Egghead with Bookworm as runner-up

Villian from the comic used in the series-Mr.Freeze (Sanders or Preminger)

Villian from comics never used in the series-Scarecrow

Clint Eastwood was considered to play Two-Face in the series. That would have been an interesting choice.

"I'M AS MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

For the timing, Mr. Freeze (George Sanders), though if it would have been possible, Mr. Freeze (Eli Wallach) just because I love Eli Wallach, that would have been fun.

Fantasy-wise, Two-Face (Clint Eastwood), because Two-Face is one of the better villains, and would have filled out all the villains later used in Batman, Batman Returns, and Batman Forever.

I chose Two Face.

Funny you asked, glemay, as I never saw this movie until years after it was first released. And then after watching all the reruns there was in the film this riddle:

"What goes up white and comes down yellow and white?"

<Answer>: "An egg!"

When viewing initially, not knowing the character had yet to be created when they made the picture, I was sure this was Egghead's entrance into the story. So another vote for Egghead here, Vincent Price was an accomplished screen, stage and television actor, he would have been an egg-cellent addition.

A pirate villain is an idea, Batman had faced a few of them over the years though none particularly stood out. The one played by Gil Perkins in BATMAN: THE MOVIE (1966), Bluebeard, was almost treated as an equal to the "Big 4," he got to use the periscope as they did. Captain Stingaree is a favorite of mine, mostly due to the artwork, he also was not created until the '70's.

I'd have to go with King Tut, but he might have had trouble fitting into the sub. Second choice would be Egghead. What a collection of over-the-top acting that combination would have produced! And the movie probably would have had to be longer to give everyone enough screen time.

This post has inspired me to go back to this old batman show and movie. Always on the hunt for some family friendly viewing. And the i remember the girls on the show were beautiful!

Ten-year old dead-thread, but here goes:

1. I'd got for Egghead over the others. I'd want a whole side-plot where Egghead is desperately trying to be egg-cepted by the big four villains and, frustrated, eventually helps Batman and Robin just to get even with Catwoman, Joker, Riddler, and Penguin. Of course, he'd double-cross them, too, and wind up behind bars.

2. If it couldn't be Egghead, my next choice would be King Tut. The villains invented for the '66 series were dopey fun, but that being the point of the show, they kinda maximized the enjoyment of it.
