Is this movie appropriate for kids

I have never seen this movie but am anxious to see it now because of the comparisons being made to War Horse. My kids (age 11 and 7) loved War Horse and they love the "classic" stuff I show them. What age would you say this is for?

This film contains gang rape, animal abuse, prostitution, suicide, and all kinds of other forms of human cruelty. Don't show it to your kids.
