Weakest merde-kicking I've ever seen

Not the donkey, but when the gang surrounds Arnold and starts "kicking" him. I know they're just acting, and don't actually want to hurt a fellow thespian, but it's possible to err too much on the side of caution. (Bresson's penchant for going through dozens of takes may have had something to do with the reluctance of the actors to do anything bearing even a passing resemblance to actual kicking.)

Perhaps the clapperboard had "take 34" on it by then and their feet were bruised from tolchocking Arnold`s bones?

reply

Yeah it was pretty lame. Some of the beatings of the donkey were likewise lame.
