From IMDb trivia:

The series aired in 1966-67 but used 1968 as the "present" year that Project Tic Toc took place. The year 1978 was twice the setting of the "futuristic" shows The Time Tunnel: One Way to the Moon (1966) and The Time Tunnel: Town of Terror (1967)

Yeah...1978 didn't look much different than 1966 by Time Tunnel standards. Retro future, I guess. ;-)

In 1966 I was in the 5th grade. In 1978 I had just graduated from college. Things looked a LOT different in 1978 especially the WOMEN!

Funny you should mention "the women". A few years ago, I was watching "Town of Terror" and they mention the exact date in 1978. As it happens, I was able to remember what I was doing that day, because I got married about a week previous, and it was the last day of our honeymoon. (Before you ask for details, we spent most of the day driving.)

Do not recall any news reports about aliens in Maine.

Kind of similar to 2015 being an important part of Back to the

I think the only reason 2015 was picked in BTTTFII is so that matched up with the ages his children would be, only problem there is that it's totally impossible for him to have children. All that would happened is that he and Jennifer would have gone missing 1985.

As for 1978, that's the year I finished high school.
I loved the late '70's and '80.
I'd love a Time Machine/Tunnel to go back to those innocent days of society!

So your time reference is more "That 70's Show" than Time Tunnel.
Which 70's Show Character were you back then?
