Which Episode Featured An All Female Rock Band?

I could swear one episode featured an all female rock group. I was looking through the episode descriptions and didn't see it.

The episode is called Some Like it Lukewarm and it was in the second season of the show. The girl band is called The West Minstrell Abbies.

One of the girls was Deana Martin, Dean's daughter. She and Davy dated backed in the 60's and stayed friends until his death.

Did Deana Martin and Davy Jones date before or after she was on the show? Maybe Davy should have married Deana. I don't know about the first two, but his third wife was a miserable shrew.

I just saw Deana on a local New York public television show. But she was discussing her legendary father's career, not her own.

I guess she was dating him before the show. I skimmed though her autobio last year, it was pretty good. The Martin family liked Davy, on ET when he died, it was stated they dated for a year. I think he was also dating Linda, but I don't know. They must have been pretty serious since the producer thought they were sleeping together. He asked Deana to have a look like she and Davy just had sex, but Deana did not understand since she was a virgin. The story is in her book. In 2007, she surprised him on stage, since they had not seen each other in decades. It's on YT, it's really cute. I was never a big Monkee or Davy fan, but I became interested in his life after he died. I always liked the show as a kid, grew up with the reruns. Deana was also at his memorial in NY. Yeah it's too bad, they never married. According to Deana, once Linda became pregnant, Davy broke things off and married Linda. I've heard a lot of negative comments about his widow Jessica. That is sad if the rumors are true.

I've seen videoes of Davy and Jessica. I recall on Dr. Phil, she did come across as bossy. Maybe she wanted kids, being a young woman, but at 66, Davy wasn't having it, can't blame him. She also performed with him on an oldies special on PBS. She is pretty, but personality is more important. In Some Like It Lukewarm, when Davy is singing "She Hangs Out". He later jumps on the platform where Deana's character Daphne is dancing with her bandmate, Davy briefly hugs Deana while dancing with them. I wonder if that was in the script on spontaneous on Davy's part. It was cute. Some fans stated on YT in that scene, Deana never takes her eyes off Davy, I wonder if that was scripted too. They are right, she dosen't. You can pick up their friendship.

Deana Martin is going to be one of the guest at The Monkees Convention March 1 through March 3, 2013 in Secaucus, NJ. Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork will be there plus many other special guests including David Cassidy and five Brady Kids.

Davy was between marriages from 1996 to 2009. It would have been nice if he could have got together with Deana Martin. Lost loves reuniting has become more common with the popularity of sites like facebook. But I think Deana was married to music producer John Griffeth.

I love how the girls "sing" by the editor mixing in a sped-up version of "Last Train to Clarksville"...

Glad to note there's no laugh track to that episode...

"The Door into Summer" is a classy, classic song, though... one of my faves...

It's a bit campy, and the only cringing moment is the sped up song, but with a bottle of wine, it's a fun ride to watch.

I think that episodes also inspired a skit on "The Ben Stiller Show". Please click on

The frustrating thing about that episode was when they figure out they should merge the groups, the girls are demoted to sexy dancers and the music playing is left to the boys.
