Peter season two question

I noticed this in the Pleasant Valley Sunday performance clip (as seen in Monkee Mayor) but think it is noticeable in other performance clips only. Peter has a mark under his eye and also the appearance of a tattoo on his right hand. Anyone know what that is about? Don't believe he had any tattoos.

The tattoo is probably a rub-on, but I don't know for sure. The mark under his eye, also visible in What Am I Doin' Hangin' Round, is from when Davy punched him off the set.

I read somewhere that both marks were small temporary tattoos

I think most boy bands have a "bad boy" who usually has tattoos. Was Peter the bad boy of The Monkees?
